No, not a Capri
Just recently I was very fortunate to be invited to accompany a good friend of mine on a regular run of classic cars. A private collector, who has possibly one of the best collections of Jaguars in Australia, invites friends & members of a collectors car club to help him give the cars a bit of road time. On this occasion, there were two Jags, two Jensens & the Triumph Stag. We were allocated the Stag. It was one of the best days, weather wise, this year & the drive, which is all thoroughly planned, found us travelling up through the Sunshine Coast hinterland to Flaxton. It was a great day for driving in the Stag with the top down. Not having had anything to do with these cars, apart from watching Terry in Minder, I was very impressed. This car was imported from the UK & is in fantastic condition.
The collector has just completed a two storey garage/showroom which is bigger than my house. Besides Jags, he has a number of other British classics but no Fords. A real eye opener of a day, not only to drive in the car but to see how this man looks after his cars.
The Jensen Healey pictured has a twin-cam Lotus engine which is slanted well over to the right side of the car.
